Why We’re Expanding to Ann Arbor
Bamboo is opening our third co-working and startup hub in Downtown Ann Arbor.
I often have this vision that we are one region that’s a great place to live and work. That we are one connected community.
Instead of being in a state that’s on an economic decline, we’re a state that’s growing. We’re a region that’s empowering our local innovators who create jobs in their own communities.
Bamboo is meant to be a platform for all. You can plug in, get to work, connect with peers and mentors and talent, and grow in our ecosystem. You can land and expand easily and tap into the community.
In order to be a more regional platform, we’ve decided to expand and open our third Bamboo location in Downtown Ann Arbor at 301 W Washington (right next to the Blind Pig).
For a long time, Ann Arbor has led the way in culture change, knowledge exchange and startup growth. Exactly the kind the environment needed for innovation.
Ann Arbor is home to Michigan’s first unicorn startup - Duo Security - and a handful of other $100 Million + plus recent exits, along with a growing healthy life sciences community. We hope to build a bridge between this wealth of talent and experience to our growing 1,000+ members in Detroit and Royal Oak.
We’ve long admired the work of the great local ecosystem here: Cahoots, Ann Arbor Spark, University of Michigan, Desai Accelerator, Nutshell, Duo, the many nonprofits and creatives and students building together.
As we say at Bamboo, no idea is too big or small.
We hope to hear from you on how we can add to the community and partner together.
We hope to build bridges to the more job opportunities in Michigan, and help talented students stay and grow here.
Please reach out as we are now accepting for our first members, and will be open in Spring of 2024. We’ll have a lot of private offices for individuals and teams, along with some fun community amenities. You can learn more here.
PS...Apologies for the lack of updates. It was a busy summer and fall. More to come soon. Hope you all have been well.
